Kathy Evans

Kathy is owner and personal biographer at Write For You Life Stories. Kathy’s St. Louis-based business draws on her background as an occupational therapist and her lifelong passion for writing. A graduate of Ohio State University and Washington University, Kathy has participated in independent studies and writers’ groups and workshops for years, both as student and teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, swimming, birdwatching, spending time outdoors, and walking Alfie the standard poodle. She is the mother of four grown children and has seven delightful “grands.”


Grace Jones

After graduating from Webster University with a degree in English and secondary education, Grace began her career as a high school language arts teacher at Lift for Life Academy in St. Louis. She earned the distinction of New Teacher of the Year her first year of teaching and Teacher of the Year her last. Grace provides editing expertise, historical research, and administrative support for Write For You.


Suzanne Fox

Suzanne is a writer and editor with an extensive knowledge of publishing. She is an author (Home Life: A Journey Through Rooms and Recollections), online editor (Society Nineteen), and prolific book reviewer. Suzanne’s company, Bookstrategy, provides consultation services on book structure, developmental editing, and publishing for many Write For You projects. 


Deanna Sorenson

Deanna is a graduate of Drury University with a degree in English and writing. After working for the publishing company Elsevier for five years, she decided to start freelance writing and editing full-time. Deanna provides administrative support, editing expertise, and historical research for Write for You.


Kate Huffman

Kate Huffman has been a professional genealogist for four years. She volunteers as Public Relations Director for the Missouri State Genealogical Association and serves as a delegate to the National Genealogical Society. Kate also works as a historical interpretive specialist and is an active member of her DAR chapter. 


Wendy Ledger

Wendy is a transcriptionist, proofreader, and editor with more than twenty-five years’ experience. She holds an MA in creative writing from San Francisco State University and has been certified as a professional sequence editor through UC Berkeley Extension. Wendy contracts with Write For You through her company, VoType.


John Bennett

John designs books ranging from paperbacks to limited edition leather-bound heirloom books. After receiving an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, John directed the University’s Silver Buckle Press, a working museum of letterpress printing history. Later, John taught typography and letterpress printing at Oregon State University before deciding to put his full attention into book design.


Sheryl Bennett

Sheryl assists Write For You clients with image procurement and organization, illustration selection, permission attainment, and historical research. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in communication arts and the history of public address, Sheryl's career combines over thirty years in successful community and business development, personnel management, nonprofit management, and grant writing. She is the wife and partner of John Bennett of John Bennett Book Design.


Elga Odhiambo

Elga transcribes interviews and other audio files for Write for You. She received an international advanced diploma in business administration from Learn It Institute of Business and Technology and has been working as a freelance transcriptionist for the past five years.


Alice Stifel

Alice is a former English teacher with more than forty years’ experience in editing, proofreading, and publishing. After several years of teaching and library work, she took a position with Christian Board of Publication, supervising and directing artists, copyeditors, and photographers. Alice has done editorial work for churches, colleges, and businesses in the St. Louis area. Her favorite, she says, is reading and copyediting life stories for Write for You.


Corinne Wohlford Mason

Corinne Wohlford Mason teaches American studies at Saint Louis University. She loves working with Write for You to combine her love of creative writing and study of the past. She is particularly interested in how we remember as individuals and as communities, especially when those histories challenge us to rethink the present. Although she is not a St. Louis native, she has a special fondness for the histories of her adopted hometown. In addition to her scholarly and pedagogical publications, Dr. Mason has published poetry in a wide variety of literary magazines and received a Pushcart Prize nomination in 2022.  She holds a BA in English and art history from Wittenberg University, an MFA in writing from Washington University, and a PhD in American studies from Saint Louis University.


Sheryl Sieracki

Sheryl is a writer and editor with a degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina. After a thirty-five-year career producing corporate publications—including technical, marketing, and training materials—she started her company, Legacies of a Lifetime, to help people preserve their memories and life stories. She enjoys working with Write for You, where she provides writing and editing services for their projects.


Teddy Turner

Teddy is a freelance editor of novels and nonfiction books. He graduated from Knox College and attended the Denver Publishing Institute and UC San Diego Extended Studies. Alongside his proofreading work for Write for You, he was a copyeditor for the New York Times bestseller That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally and US Today bestseller Where He Can’t Find You by Darcy Coates. He lives in St. Louis, where he enjoys Forest Park and regularly receives fresh chicken eggs from family.


Sarah Lohmann

Sarah is a proofreader and editor with a BA in Creative Writing and Asian Studies from Knox College, where their work in translation and critical analysis was presented at the Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium. They are currently pursuing an MFA in Writing at Lindenwood University, and they proofread for Write For You on various projects.
